Tennis court

The snow has held off long enough for the slab for the tennis court to be poured. Monday's storm set us back a day, but they were able to pour yesterday. We're pretty excited. Now we just have to wait until spring for them to put the surfacing on & paint the lines. Then we're ready to play!!

The tease is over...

OK, so I guess we've teased this "Jessica burned the pigs" thing long enough. Here's the story, from Jessica's point of view:

When I was about 3 years old, we had a game called Pass The Pigs. We had a trinket box that had pennies, paper clips and 2 plastic pigs (the 3 P's). One day, I got out the trinket box and took it to the microwave. I put it in the microwave. I'm not sure why I did this, I was only 3 at the time. Then I started the microwave and heard a wierd noise. I left it and then my mom came into the kitchen and saw sparks in the microwave! She pulled out the box that now had 2 black pigs. When Dad got home that night, I said, "I burneded the pigs"

Dad's addendum: Needless to say Jessica is still not allowed to use the microwave...but we love her.

Moved in...Finally

After what seemed like forever, we finally moved in to our new house on July 26th. Thank you to all everyone that helped - especially those that almost died! I know we have a lot of HEAVY things. Fortunately this will be the last move! We are happy to be in, but sad to be leaving our great neighborhood. The kids are happy not to have to "work at the new house", but not so happy they have to keep their rooms clean. The day we moved in the older kids were off playing at a friends house, so it was just Karin, Kevin & Mitchell. Karin & I are unpacking a few things and Mitchell says, "I wanna go home". He was very sad and wanted to go back home and play with his toys. Unpacking a few toys helped, but I'm not sure he really understood what was going on. Poor kid. He still calls our new house "the basement". Not sure why. More to come later...

Almost done...

The house is coming along. It seems to be consuming every free moment we have. Karin is constantly having to harass the subs to get their work done...and get it right. I am trying to fumble my way through installing lights, switches, plugs, etc. Thanks to Tanner it may actually have a chance of working the way it should. We'll find out early next week when we get our power turned on. The driveway is completed now too. We actually have steps, so the old folks don't have to jump!

Building a Home!

Well this is the final homestead. Karin has been quite the general contractor. She will be available to start another construction project by August!! We are hoping to be in our new home by the first week in July. Hoping is the key word. If you know anyone looking to buy a house - we have one for sale. If not, take a guess at the poll question.

Do you want to see how smart you are?? - I got 15 without cheating!
